"Right - it's getting a bit warm in here, isn't it? Or is it just me? Good night."
― Tom

Players and roles[]

Storytellers: Ben, Tom

Script: Whose Role Is It Anyway by Courtney McClannahan

Ordered clockwise

Player Role Character text Type
Mara Imp Each night*, choose a player: they die. If you kill yourself this way, a Minion becomes the Imp. Demon
Sullivan Farmer If you die at night, an alive good player becomes a Farmer. Townsfolk
Brooke Alchemist You have a not-in-play Minion ability. Townsfolk
Adam Lunatic You think you are a Demon, but you are not. The Demon knows who you are & who you choose at night. Outsider
Jon Sage If the Demon kills you, you learn that it is 1 of 2 players. Townsfolk
Laurie Mayor If only 3 players live & no execution occurs, your team wins. If you die at night, another player might die instead. Townsfolk
Dan Barber If you died today or tonight, the Demon may choose 2 players (not another Demon) to swap characters. Outsider
Carley Pit-Hag Each night*, choose a player & a character they become (if not in play). If a Demon is made, deaths tonight are arbitrary. Minion
Luke Poisoner Each night, choose a player: they are poisoned tonight and tomorrow day. Minion
Dom Philosopher Once per game, at night, choose a good character: gain that ability. If this character is in play, they are drunk. Townsfolk

Demon Bluffs[]

  • Cannibal - You have the ability of the recently killed executee. If they are evil, you are poisoned until a good player dies by execution.
  • Magician - The Demon thinks you are a Minion. Minions think you are a Demon.
  • Pixie - You start knowing 1 in-play Townsfolk. If you were mad that you were this character, you gain their ability when they die.

Additional Information[]

  • Adam the Lunatic believes he is the Fang Gu: Each night*, choose a player: they die. The 1st Outsider this kills becomes an evil Fang Gu & you die instead. [+1 Outsider] His bluffs are:
    • Gambler: Each night*, choose a player & guess their character: if you guess wrong, you die.
    • Sailor: Each night, choose an alive player: either you or they are drunk until dusk. You can't die.
    • Farmer: If you die at night, an alive good player becomes a Farmer.
  • Brooke the Alchemist is given the Baron ability: There are extra Outsiders in play. [+2 Outsiders]. This appears to have been a Rules Goof. The Baron adds 2 Outsiders during setup (when the token goes in the bag) assigning the Baron to the Alchemist as their not in play Minion ability happens after setup.

*Not the first night

Notable moments[]

  • Lots going on: Dom has supplanted Adam in the throuple - Adam's taking it well. Town is full of farmers, Carley's worried about a Magician and the peroxide twins are bonding. Meanwhile, the time has definitely come for a wholesome AF sitcom featuring Laurie and Dan.
  • When we compare the way the cast play now to how they started 25 episodes ago, they're much more sophisticated - for example, many people don't include their real roles in their information exchanges, they're much cannier about teasing out possible strategies, they know much more about potential pitfalls. On the other hand, we almost get a day one rerack, so what do I know?
  • Mara and Laurie engage in Jon-torment, Mara apologies, Laurie refuses. Jon thinks they're covering something sinister with their bits - but Laurie points out that he wears his malice proudly.
  • Jon: "If the crime is being brilliant at Clocktower, hang me now ... Genuinely, that would be a really bad idea. Don't kill me."
  • Ben: "You boring pricks! No executions today." "Now you can yell at each other."
  • Let's mime a little pit hug.
  • Dom's overacting beautifully in his own defence. Laurie: "Don't applaud, that gives him an extra year of life!"
  • Adam: "I have something to say and I want to do it in a spotlight". Dom says it's hobbible - it's not an impression but it's certainly rattling Adam.
  • Tom: "Hung, drawn and quartered - like a well-endowed cartoon with a place to stay - Brooke."
  • Dom takes Jon's defence for him, it's a mixed bag. Ghost Lawyer is an idea whose time has come - shame he's been dead for 400 years so his law expertise is medieval. "The defence rests ... in peace!"
  • Brooke and Sullivan were together till death do them part - but Adam and Sullivan made no such promise, because Adam and Sullivan are boyfriends. Adam thinks that means he won. Brooke is very disturbed at how natural their kissing is. Sullivan points out it's not natural at all. Brooke: "My relationship is being thrust upon me in a tent". And we've gone.
  • Laurie's actually pretty much got it - but then Laurie is Cassandra, so is anyone going to believe him?
  • Provide actors with a spotlight and they're pretty much going to hog it as much as possible, surely? Adam's not the only one...
  • Tom: "There was a lot of farmer stuff in this one, so, I don't know... get on moo-d?"
