Monopoly, But COMMUNIST 2 is an episode of House Rules, also in the Monopoly, But series.
- "I'm going to kill every one of you! I'm going to kill every one of you! I'm going to make sure you all die! I'm going to squash you under my boot! I'm a member of the Politburo! You're all nothing!"
In this episode, Holly, Laurie, Sullivan and Tilly play Communopoly within Stalinist Russia, with Dom as Stalin.
Notable moments[]
- This is a playthrough of a custom version of Monopoly, with all properties and cards replaced with versions themed around Russian Communism under Stalin. There are a number of additional rules and token powers introduced.
- There are a couple new systems and properties in play - the Electric Company and Waterworks are now involved, along with a few tweaks to the original rules.
- We've got Communist intros by Dom: Tiny President Tito Tilly, Half-Priced Ho Chi Minh Holly, Lighter-Head Lenin Laurie and Communopoly Veteran Sullivan.
- Dom gives us a very fair and calm reminder that this is a Stalinist version of Communopoly. That means that whatever Dom says goes. This becomes abundantly clear throughout the episode.
- Holly wants to be the cat first, but that's greed.
- Laurie: "So I have no power." Dom: "No power? We're living in the dictatorship of the Proletariat! You've got all the power. You've got the power of the workforce!"
- Dom: "I don't make the rules." Tilly: "Yes you do!"
- The price for Communopoly has now gone up to £20,000 directly to Dominic Allen, for all you players looking to add this to your collection.
- The Electric Company's system is revealed. Laurie is horrified. Dom and Teri are quite pleased with themselves.
- Tilly: "Look at all these bourgeoisie pricks exploiting the peasant. I know my place."
- The group decides what happens to a property instead of auction. Suggestions are: disappearing Sullivan, disappearing Sullivan and splitting his assets or buying the property for the person with the least amount of properties. They decide on buying it together.
- Picture-Stalin holding the cooperatively-owned property is delightful.
- The Great Purge occurs. Oh dear.
- The other players discover the harshness of administrative fears. Dom is delightfully dismissive, Sullivan informs the group with the shake of someone who has seen this all go down before.
- Dom: "You think Dom Allen is toxic? That's like, tell me you don't watch NRB videos without telling me you don't watch NRB videos. Of course I'm fucking toxic!"
- Communopoly variations: the People's Republic with Mao ZeDom; YouTube Commentnopoly; Communopoly: Vietnam.
- The Waterworks system is revealed. Dom is disgusted at these capitalist pigs.
- Every single question for the Doctrine Questionnaire appears to be on John Wayne.
- Tilly devotes herself to the cause. It is ultimately her downfall, although her disappearance is both in-character and quite sad. Dom: "Come on. Be optimistic." Tilly: "No."
- Laurie's new role is fitting. Everyone is horrified.
- New system - someone is Trotsky and will disappear. This is resolved remarkably quickly.
- We finally found out what the Kremlin does! The power is far too great. And it's in Laurie's hands.
- Sullivan runs a show trial for himself. Dom has a few petty comments and everyone votes on whether he disappears. No surprises what happens here.
- Due to ongoing investigations, despite only Laurie being the capitalist pig, Sullivan is also sent to jail. Sullivan is furious, Laurie, despite his own sentencing, is rather happy.
- Sullivan and Tilly are missing multiple turns, and Holly and Laurie cannot buy property and end up in jail one after the other. It's honestly quite beautiful.
- Laurie ends up with the Hat. If you've seen the previous video, you already know what is about to happen.
- Tilly: "So you want me to die in Chernobyl, that's what you want?" Dom: "Yeah, come on."
- The end-game is a complete mess, with Dom cherry-picking No Chance cards to ensure Tilly has to suffer, Holly dying in jail and the State having extortionate transaction fees. Laurie is having a nice time though.
- It's a bitter ending, although let's be real, it's no better or worse than actual Monopoly. The cast are broken, Dom is gleeful and it's the end of Communopoly.
