Lord Of The Board is a board game tournament series on the No Rolls Barred channel.
The name is based on the wrestling title "King of the Ring." The series received permission from other board game YouTube channel Lord of the Board to name it this way.
- "We’ve spent a year and a half building up relationships on this channel and they’re all going to crumble."
- ―Adam
Series 1[]
The first series involved Blair, Adam, Laurie, Sully, Rosie, Dom, Brooke, and Tom in a tournament of seven episodes. It was won by Brooke, who was given the Lord of the Board title.
The series introduced a number of elements new to the channel: as well as the tournament format, there were promos recorded by competitors and a commentary team. It made a significant contribution to NRB canon.
Full tournament details are listed at Lord of the Board Series 1.
Series 2[]
Despite Brooke's protests, a second Lord of the Board series, though in a different format than the first series, was discussed on a number of occasions, including in the No Rolls Barred Discord Anniversary 2022. At the UK Games Expo in June 2023, Adam stated that "we have an idea for it," and that that idea "would be a sort of live event," rather than a series. He did, however, say that the odds of the show returning were "not 100%." In the Patreon post linked to Let's Play CODENAMES (Patreon Exclusive) , the channel very strongly hinted at an imminent return of the competition.
The promo for Series 2 was included in Yahtzee, But With LYING, released in July 2023. This series was initially announced to be a live event, running on 14 and 15 July, but was postponed until September due to key members of the cast and crew being unavailable last-minute. Based on cast inclusion in the promo, it was assumed competitors would be 8 of Adam, Blair, Brooke, Dan, Dom, Jon, Laurie, Sullivan and Tilly.
Following further delays associated with cast changes, on 3 November 2023, it was finally announced that Series 2 would be returning as a live event on 17 November. Tournament brackets were revealed on 8 November and were Blair, Dan, Dom, Jon, Laurie, Luke, Rosie and Sullivan. Dan, Jon and Luke made their tournament debuts, and the 2023 competition featured Rosie vs Dom rematch!
The Livestream ran for 10 hours and 37 minutes on 17 November 2023. Competitors played games chosen by viewer voting during the stream.
The tournament was won by Jon, who took the Lord of the Board title.

Further Title Competition[]
In May 2024, it was announced that the current Lord of the Board would be challenged by Sullivan, the winner of the CROKINOLE RUMBLE!. Scoring during the Board Game Club episode Let's Play CAPTAIN SONAR was used to determine an advantage to be played during the title defence. The challenge took place across 3 games - Connect 4, Yahtzee and Pictionary, all played using House Rules versions previously played on the channel. The defence took place on the 18 May 2024 episode of House Rules, 3 STAGES OF HOUSE RULES (Connect-4, Yahtzee and Pictionary). The overall winner was Sullivan Brown.
