Jon Gracey is a member of the No Rolls Barred family.
- "It's all of you! You're all trying to get me! Trying to replace me with this ghost! I can see it!"
- ―Jon
He is known for his hilarious quips and japes, and he is a purveyor of several NRB running gags such as "eat shit, Blair", "tweet me @ElFakidor" and "kiss my grits". He is also well known for his unravelings as a result of a seemingly heightened sense of frustration from playing board games with his friends, for his multiple mattresses, and for his love of popular Kiwi band Crowded House. Laurie is his Demon.
His favourite board game is Dead of Winter.
Outside of No Rolls Barred, he's a writer and game designer, co-developer of the Mini Mysteries puzzle games. He hosts the immersive game experience, Werewolf: Live and a series of live playthroughs of Blood on the Clocktower. He directed Sullivan Beau Brown and Rosie Nicholls' comedy show Grubby Little Mitts. Jon's also a noted l33t gamer, who regularly streams full playthroughs of the world's most complex video games, usually with absolutely 0 deaths. Any high-pitched screams and swearing are merely to provide atmosphere, just demonstrating his mad skillz. This might be a lie.
Jon won the Lord of the Board tournament 2023 but lost his title on his first defence against Sullivan in 3 STAGES OF HOUSE RULES (Connect-4, Yahtzee and Pictionary) in May 2024.
Biography[]
At the beginning of the No Rolls Barred channel, Jon knew only Adam and Tom, having appeared in sketch comedy with Adam for some time. He immediately gelled with Sullivan to the extent that YouTube viewers started to demand a Sully & Jon spin-off series from their first shared Board Game Club appearance.
Notable moments[]
- In Everybody Loves Puppets, Jon became the minstrel of Ravenswood Bluff, performing a song for the town which built up over each night. Luckily, this became an epic 7 night game. His lyrics became increasingly sexual, then scathing about the town's performance.
- Let's Play COSMIC ENCOUNTER was a lovely episode for many of our cast. Jon played the shit-eating zombie race - married, then discarded and betrayed by Sullivan's bride race. Sadly, as a mindless, undead, shit-eating horde it was difficult for him to be a convincing underdog.
- Jon was unraveled once again by Isaac in the episode Ding Dom Merrily On High, when Isaac repeatedly told him "Laurie's my Demon".
- Let's Play CITADELS brought an excessive unraveling when Jon was picked by the assassin enough times for him to miss his turns for almost the entire game. The unraveling resulted in the KALLAX almost being knocked over, a lengthy beration by Jon of the game's designer Bruno Faidutti, and his eventual storming out of the Board Game Club room.
- In Let's Play THE THING, Jon was in charge of the weather dice and kept rolling badly - this cost the group food and the little piglet children were hungry. This gradually evolved into a promise from him to roll better dice (and get more food) if they could impress him with their Daddys. It's a very NRB episode.
- Jon defeated Dom in the grand final of the livestreamed Lord of the Board tournament 2023. He was crowned Lord of the Board at the end of the 10-hour stream. Jon would then be soundly defeated by Sullivan in 3 Stages of House Rules where he would lose his crown. It was during this contest that Jon would admit that he hated his Lord of the Board crown, thus establishing his canon opinion of the crown.
Quotes[]
- "If you ignore evil and stupid, that's everyone."
- "I'm having a breakdown, it doesn't mean I'm wrong."
- "What is Board Game Club if not a significantly longer and growing series of required reading for every single episode?"
- "The first flashy guy that comes along and you suddenly forget about your infinite army of zombie shit-eating monsters and you go with the magician!" [Sullivan, as the bride, divorces Jon for Adam]
- "I'm a middle class white guy, so I'm pretty used to things going my way."

Appraisals[]
- "Jon's quite good at deception and quite good at reading people and then something... that's how Jon unravels. He'll find the smallest possible thing and it all goes to shit."
- "Good old, reliable, emotionally stable Jon Gracey."
- "It's hard for Jon to fake actual outrage, and he's actually outraged right now."
- "I think that after this episode goes out, Jon Gracey will suddenly find that casinos across the world will be pawing at him to come along to their casinos... because Jon's understanding of the most basic maths and bluffing is unbelievable. I've never seen someone in my whole life get it wrong every, every single time. It's incredible!"
- "I don't really feel the need to defend myself against a man who dresses up as a wolf and prances around at conventions for a living." [when nominated by Jon]
